Pet Food Recall
|
12-14-11 There have been several pet foods
recalled lately due to aflatoxin poisons. Though no known animals
have become ill, and none of these foods have been sold in WI, we
are still letting you know. Pet food recalls seem to have a way of
expanding. . . . Here is information on the three recalls
issued within the couple weeks.

11-16-11 A canine Leptosporosis outbreak is
currently occurring in Michigan, with 20 confirmed cases in Detroit.
This bacterial disease is spread primarily through infected urine,
and causes kidney and liver failure in dogs, and sometimes
fatalities. And to compound the issue, this disease can also spread
to humans from their pets. If you will be travelling to anywhere
near the Detroit area over the holidays (say for the Packers game
Thanksgiving day?) and are bringing your dog, please make sure
he/she is vaccinated against Leptosporosis.
