Services and Procedures at Gentle Vet Animal Hospital...

Preventive Care
Wellness examinations, vaccinations, parasite control (fleas, ticks, worms), geriatric care. We also offer nutritional counseling and behavior counseling. We strongly recommend annual checkups and blood panels to detect problems early.  Early detection of diseases (before symptoms arise) will extend life expectancy and quality of life.

Diagnostics
In-house laboratory for blood and urine testing. Blood pressure monitoring for cat and dogs. Radiology (x-ray) includes barium studies, upper GI series, heart, kidney and bladder dye studies. EKG link to specialists. Rigid endoscopes for internal examinations and biopsies. Rapid results are available in minutes to assist in diagnosis, proper treatment and monitoring of your pet's condition. Ultra sound and echocardiography.

Surgery
Surgeries are performed in our state of the art surgical suite using
balanced anesthesia, sterile techniques, and a warming blanket.
Cardiac, respiratory, and oxygenation monitors and IV fluids are
utilized, as well as pain medication during and after surgery. All
anesthetic procedures are continuously monitored and vital signs
charted by our technicians. We perform elective surgeries, soft-tissue
procedures, orthopedics including fracture repair, cruciate ligament
surgery, luxating patella repair. Anesthetic recovery is monitored by
our technicians until your pet is fully awake.

Avian and Exotic Patients
Our experienced doctors and staff regularly attend continuing education conferences on exotic animal care, and stay current with

Chemotherapy

the latest updates. Our Storz rigid endoscopes allows for less invasive biopsy procedures in avian and reptile species. Our in-house laboratory can process exotic animal tests efficiently and accurately for prompt diagnosis. Our doctors care for the animals at the NEW Zoo and Wildlife Sanctuary.

Dentistry (also see Dental Procedure below)
Preventive care and treatment of all dental conditions, including complete dental examination and charting, dental radiographs, ultrasonic scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatment. Endodontics (root canal) and gingival surgeries performed. Untreated dental diseases can have effects on your pet's heart, liver, and kidneys.

Boarding
Our canine and feline guests are monitored closely every day for
appetite, attitude and elimination habits. Spacious runs are available
for dogs. Boarding for dogs includes 3 walks outside a day and treats. Cats are boarded in the separate feline facility, and larger

dental x-ray

condo units with windows are available. We feed Science Diet products twice daily. Owners may bring special diets, treats, or bedding to make their pets' stay more comfortable. Boarding cats receive fresh food, water and litter boxes twice a day, along with daily brushing and treats.  If your pet normally takes medications, we will give oral medications as needed to boarding dogs and cats (please bring meds and instructions with you).

Dental Procedure
Why is dental cleaning so important?
What do the veterinarians look for to indicate a dental cleaning is needed?
What can I do in between cleanings so I don’t need to have the teeth cleaned so often?

Other Procedures
Although Gentle Vet Animal Hospital is equipped and trained to handle a wide range of surgical procedures such as wound suturing, biopsies, and even orthopedics, we will highlight some of the more common procedures requested,
