New Client Information

New clients: A $100.00 prepay is required to hold your reservation. This amount is applied in full to your appointment total at the time of your visit.

Surgery Scheduling Policy

A current exam at Gentle Vet is required before any surgery can be booked. Plan for two visits — an exam first, then a separate surgery date. We cannot book surgery as a first appointment.

Exam and Vaccine Policy

All treatments and medical services require an examination by one of our veterinarians.

Exotics

Rabbits, guinea pigs, chinchillas, rats, sugar gliders, and similar species.

Exams & Visits

  • Wellness Exam — $105.00
    • Your pet's annual checkup - a head-to-tail physical and a chance to catch small things before they become bigger ones. Also the right appointment for routine monitoring of stable, known conditions. Vaccines are not included in the exam price but can be administered at the same visit for their individual costs. 
  • Consultation — Starting at $115
    • When something new is going on and you need answers. This is the right appointment when a new health concern needs a doctor's attention. 
  • Recheck / Follow-Up — $72.25
    • ​​​​​​​A follow-up visit within 45 days of your initial consultation to check how a condition is resolving. Priced lower because your doctor already knows the case.

Vaccines

  • RHDV Vaccine — $34.76
    Protects rabbits against Rabbit Hemorrhagic Disease Virus.

Surgery

  • Spay (Rabbit, Guinea Pig, Rat, Chinchilla) — $617.50
    • ​​​​​​​Includes pre-surgical bloodwork, anesthesia, surgery, IV fluids, and pain control in the hospital and at home. 
  • Neuter (Rabbit, Guinea Pig, Rat, Chinchilla, Sugar Glider) — $516.50
    • ​​​​​​​Includes pre-surgical bloodwork, anesthesia, surgery, IV fluids, and pain control in the hospital and at home.

Vaccines

  • Distemper — $60.25
    • ​​​​​​​Highly contagious and often fatal disease in ferrets.
  • Rabies — $53.85
    • ​​​​​​​Protects against a fatal disease affecting animals and humans. 

Avian, Reptile & Other Exotics

Birds, reptiles, amphibians, fish, and less commonly seen species.

Grooming

  • Beak Trim — $91.25

Note on Beak Trims: Beak trims at Gentle Vet are not standalone or walk-in appointments. We require at least one prior or concurrent doctor’s exam before performing a beak trim and recommend annual exams for birds receiving routine beak grooming.
