Who We Are

At Gentle Vet Animal Hospital, our mission is Experience Care, and you’ll feel it from day one. Established in 1970, Gentle Vet is a full-service veterinary hospital dedicated to providing kind and compassionate care to animals in the community. We strive to give our clients the small-town experience while giving our patients the most advanced quality of care. Our leadership team aims to create a supportive work environment where you will be challenged and inspired while helping animals and their owners.

No two days are the same when you work at Gentle Vet Animal Hospital. You’ll work on the cutting edge of veterinary medicine and develop your skills in ways you never could at a traditional practice. We have a special focus on treating dogs, cats, small animals, avians, reptiles, wildlife, and many other exotic animals, and we see a large number of complicated medical cases. We also service a local wildlife sanctuary and zoo.

Our team members enjoy strong mentorship, a dynamic training protocol, a supportive work environment, and a passionate, energetic team. We are consistently striving for excellence and are proud to have received Low-Stress Handling Silver Certification in 2012, 2015, and 2022. Low-Stress Handling is a key part of our long-term training program, and all veterinary assistants take this multi-week course, paid for by Gentle Vet. For the motivated individual who meets and agrees to the qualifications, we also offer a paid training opportunity to advance from Veterinary Assistant to Certified Veterinary Technician.

You’ll work in our new, state-of-the-art facility that opened in 2024, equipped with ultrasound, digital radiography, and an in-house IDEXX laboratory.
